Want a recipe to make your life better, as well as some recipes for cooking really great dishes? Yes? Then this little book is for you.
Redman has written fifteen books, including the award-winning "The 9 Steps to Emotional Fitness". A psychotherapist, coach, and trainer for thirty years, he is President of the Emtional Fitness Institute Inc. formerly the Centre for Inner Balancing in Calgary, Alberta.
In an effort to spread the principles of emotional fitness to a wider public, he (perhaps with Harnish's help) came up with the idea of a 'life/food cookbook' (I don't know how else to describe it), and it works. I have never seen a book quite like this, but having seen it, I recommend it!
The book follows the journey of a young woman named Jenny, who's life is not working very well. Short on friends, not able to maintain a romantic relationship, and using food to fill the emptiness inside, her boss one day suggests she see the same personal coach he uses. Thus begins Jenny's journey.
The simple, but interesting, story is the carrier for a much more profound and useful series of learnings and exercises for the reader. The nine steps Jenny's coach leads her through will be powerful for anyone to use (you, for instance), in clarifying who you are, what you want, and moving ahead in achieving it. This book will lead you toward a more fulfilling, harmonious life.
The recipes from Chef Robin Harnish look delicious (I have not tried any yet, having only recently got the book, but I will soon). Harnish has been a cooking instructor, personal chef, and now runs a small restaurant in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has won many professional culinary competitions. |
Review by Rhoberta Shaler, PhD Recipes for Inner Peace

I first sat with the author, Warren Redman, as he was telling me about his latest book project, Recipes for Inner Peace . He was very excited…and, I’m sure he still is…about combining his passion for helping people balance their lives and his passion for cooking, or, at least, eating!
This book, Recipes for Inner Peace , might be a surprise for you. It was for me. Not only is every word a wise word, it is beautifully presented visually. AND, there are the amazing actual real food recipes!
I particularly like Warren Redman’s ‘Lifescale’ and what he does with it. (See page 47.) This book is filled with wisdom, beautifully presented in life stories and gentle guidance. Warren’s loving presence and dedication to balance, peace and equilibrium is clear and we benefit from it immediately through this remarkable book.
This is a wonderful book to give to those you love.
Enjoy! Rhoberta
